AAA INTERNATIONAL SEAFOODWHOLESALE SEAFOOD DISTRIBUTOR
A plain answer for chefs and buyers, and the standard behind everything we sell.
Sushi-grade, also called sashimi-grade, isn’t an official government grade in the US. It’s a term suppliers use for fish selected and handled to be eaten raw, so the label is only as good as the supplier behind it. Here’s what it means at AAA.
Every product we carry, fresh or frozen, meets the standard a sushi counter expects. There’s no second tier.
Our fresh Bluefin, Yellowfin, and Albacore are #1 grade, the top grade in the tuna trade, for color, fat, and texture.
Our AAA Branded Frozen Tuna, from loins and saku to ground tuna, is held to the same standard as the fresh.
Every order is handled under HACCP-aligned, cold-chain protocols from the dock to your kitchen door.
From #1 grade fresh tuna to fresh fish, Uni, and our own frozen tuna line.

No. In the US it isn’t a government grade. It’s a supplier’s standard for fish meant to be eaten raw, which is why who you buy from matters.
In the tuna trade, #1 is the top grade, given for the best color, fat, and texture. Our fresh Bluefin, Yellowfin, and Albacore are #1 grade.
